Teaching skills to learn, Learning valuable skills to teach
Our teachers are licensed professionals with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. They are kept abreast with the current early childhood practices. A few examples of trainings and workshops they took part in the past years: “Planning and Enhancing the Classroom Environment” by Ms. Gholami, a Senior Education Development Specialist (Preschool) from Singapore and “Handling learners with Behavioral Problems” by Ms. Dacumos, a SpEd Professional and Educational Specialist.
Preschool teachers are both passionate and purposeful. They are passionate about their students’ development and what they teach, and purposeful in how they teach. They develop over time through their commitment to learning- both their students’ and their own. As the school strongly believes that children learn best when they are actively engaged with materials, ideas, and people, and that authentic growth requires diverse and nurturing opportunities, we strive to provide various ways for our teachers to learn and grow. When teachers are provided with opportunities for professional development, they apply their learnings in their classroom.
Last June, the teachers flew to Vietnam not just to rest, enjoy, and celebrate a successful school year, but to also explore a country whose history and values are similar as ours. They were able to meet Agent Orange Survivors whom, despite their disabilities, are thriving and making a mark with their creativity. They saw how resilient they are and able to bounce back from adversity. The workers at the handicraft company are fine examples of how strong the human spirit can really be.
PGP is turning 10!
In January 27, 2025, Petite Graine Preschool will be celebrating its 10th year!!! The celebration of our Foundation Day is a very much awaited event. It is a chance to share to our students, parents, teachers and staff about the humble beginnings of their second home.
We are excited to share this special day with all of you! Stay tuned! 😊

Reading Through Cooking
What is a digraph? It is a combination of 2 letters representing one sound. How do you explain a digraph to a child? Through cooking!
When engaging children in hands-on experiences, they can retain concepts and knowledge quickly and apply them in various situations. Cooking is an extraordinary opportunity for learning to read!
This week, the Kinder 2 classes are learning the Digraph: -UR, they read and wrote words with -ur and made their own burger! It was a clear favorite! Now, when they read or hear words with “ur”, they would say “Remember when we made burger?”.
Reading through cooking can become a favorite activity for your child. Choose a goal, take a few risks, and reap great rewards!
World Teachers’ Day 2024
“It takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to educate a child.”
Saturday, Oct. 5 is World Teachers’ Day! 👩🏽🏫 We appreciate these lovely people who chose to be preschool teachers despite personal challenges, career meltdowns and emotional tailspins.
These educators play a crucial role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning, helping them develop essential skills. Teaching and caring for these young children need patience and extreme dedication 🙂
Hats off to our teachers and our support staff for their hard work and passion! 💚💚💚 Happy Teachers and Support staff Day! 💚😊
