First Day of Schoolyear 2025-2026
The first day of school was a happy, memorable one, with a few students not wanting to go home after classes! ๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐
Nursery Class
Our Nursery class aims to be exciting and age-appropriate, promoting curiosity, independence and learning.
Slots are still available for the afternoon classes of Nursery and Kinder 1. Enroll now and let them grow with us! ๐
Playschool Class
Our Playschool class has a curriculum that focus on developing their independence, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills.
It includes exploring with their senses, learning to follow simple instructions, engaging in pretend play, and building social connections with classmates and teachers.
They will also begin to develop early math and literacy skills through activities like sorting, counting, and scribbling ๐
One-on-One Correspondence in Math
One-to-one correspondence in mathematics means pairing each object in a set with one unique number, ensuring each object is counted only once. It’s a foundational concept for understanding numbers and counting, where each number corresponds to a specific quantity ๐๐ก
To learn this concept, the Nursery B first jumped on a numeral on the floor, while saying its corresponding number name.
To enhance understanding of concept, they identified the number written inside an ice cream cone on their activity sheet and placed the corresponding number of scoops on that cone ๐ฆ๐งฎ
Practicing Emergency Drills
Practicing emergency drills with preschoolers brings familiarity to the concept of an emergency evacuation. Familiarity leads to calmness in young children making it easier to manage them and protect them in an emergency. Developing an effective comprehensive drill ensures us to respond correctly and swiftly during crisis ๐จ
July is National Disaster Resilience month, let us cultivate a culture of disaster resilience and help raise awareness to actively enhance the capacity of our community to prepare for, respond to, and recover from various hazards ๐๐๐ฅ
Thank you, Le Grand 3, Megaworld Commercial Division, and Eastwood City Estates Association, Inc. for keeping us safe always! We salute you! ๐ซก
Kinder 1 Class
Kindergarten 1 (K1), provides a safe space for children to interact with peers and teachers. It contributes to the development of emotional intelligence and resilience. This is their time to learn to explore, observe, ask questions, and solve problems.
Our K1 is also an introduction to DepEdโs K to 12 Curriculum, play-based activities in line with the K to 12 curriculum are used to make learning engaging and enjoyable, which helps them develop a love for learning ๐โ๏ธ
Lara is Our Swimming Medalist
Congratulations to our swimmer, Lara Grace Bryant, of Kinder 2, for placing second in the recent Super Aquathlon held at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub last July 27, 2025.
She previously won the gold medal for Freestyle at the First Plunge Tiny Tots Novice Swim Meet held in Xavier School last June 2025.๐๐ฅ
Keep it up, Lara! We are so proud of you!๐
Reviewing Numbers
It’s the beginning of the schoolyear and our Nursery and Kinder 2 students reviewed their Math lessons.๐ข
Kinder 2 had Number Sequence exercises like identifying the numbers before or after a given number, while the Nursery children did One-to-One correspondence of numbers 6-10
using different objects. In this case, the student needed to identify the written numeral and then separated the same number of objects from the file.๐
Blossoming Ballet
PGP always believed that learning is not confined within the four walls of a classroom. The body needs to be nurtured together with the mind in order to make a person whole.
This is the reason why PGP partnered with Beats and Steps Arts Academy so that our students can learn ballet from one of the best ballet school in the country. What makes Beats and Steps different from other schools is the fact that they teach ballet using the Training Program of Australian Conservatoire of Ballet curriculum. It is also a member of the Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines.
Here, our little ballerinas start with floor exercises where they pointe and flex their feet properly, improve flexibility and turnout.
Afterwards, they move to the basics, like port de bras where they learn basic arm positions.๐ฆข๐
Holistic Approach
A peek at how we apply a holistic approach in our literacy curriculum ๐๐
The Kinder 2 class learned about Medial vowel O or short /o/ sound in CVC words; they started with a review of Oscar Orangeโs sound for auditory recognition by getting the letter that makes that sound from the word. They reinforced blending letter sounds by reading out loud the words they hopped on outside their classroom. The children then integrated the topic with their hands-on activity by identifying the picture on their worksheet, reading and cutting out the corresponding word from the list and pasting it.
Nursery classes met and reviewed Eddy Elephantโs sound. They stomped around the room pretending to be elephants and searched for plastic eggs that contain the letter e. They then listened to words that begin with the /e/ sound. Using the Feely Bag, they looked for objects that begin with the letter e and matched it with the word read by Teacher. To strengthen their finger muscles and develop eye hand coordination, they colored pictures of objects that begin with the letter e and made their own Eddy Elephant for visual memory.
Teaching academic skills through activities that nurtures a childโs overall development โ๏ธโ๏ธ
Learning with Playschool
Sending your 2-year-old to school is not necessarily โtoo earlyโ if it is a structured play-based environment. The key is to find a program that focuses on socio-emotional development, exploration using their senses, independence, individual needs, their well-being and holistic development ๐
Here is a peek into our Playschool class, helping them develop a love of learning and exploring the world around them ๐
๐งฉ Choosing activities for exploration during Center Time.
๐ชฟ Meeting Letterlandโs Dippy Duck and learning the /d/ sound using the Feely Bag and exploring objects that begin with /d/.
๐ฆ Making their dinosaur using a tactile activity.
๐งคDifferentiating Hard and Soft using a variety of materials and pasting it on their Tree of Textures.
Ordinals with Kinder 2
Ordinal numbers describe the position or rank of an item in a sequence. Ordinal numbers are important for children because they help develop foundational skills in sequencing, ordering and ranking which are crucial for understanding daily routines, following instructions and grasping other concepts in math.
After learning about ordinal numbers inside the classroom, the children played โSwat The Flyโ while reading ordinal numbers. ๐ข๐
About Friends with Playschool and Nursery
For their Theme Discovery, our Playschool and Nursery students painted their palm with their chosen color. They then stamped their sign of friendship on their respective friendship boards.
Afterwards they did a parachute play with their friends. It was another fun day in school!๐จ๐๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ

About Friends with Kinders 1 and 2
Forming friendships in the early years provide a foundation for understanding social interactions, learning to navigate relationships, and building self-esteem.
Here, our Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 students choose a friend among their classmates, choose a color which they’ll spread on their palm, then mix colors with their friend by joining palms. They then stamp their sign of friendship on their respective friendship boards.๐จ๐๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
